“It’s all about building a bigger table!”
I’m a community organizer, nonprofit leader, and equity advocate based on Camano Island, Washington. I founded the Stanwood-Camano Alliance for Equity (S.A.F.E.), an organization dedicated to advancing equity, accessibility, and community empowerment across the Stanwood-Camano region.
My work sits at the intersection of public service, grassroots organizing, and systems change. Through my leadership at S.A.F.E. and my broader community involvement, I’ve worked directly with individuals and families navigating systems that were never designed with them in mind. That experience has given me a clear view of the barriers people face when it comes to access, representation, and decision-making.
In addition to my nonprofit work, I serve as Chair of the Washington State Democratic Black Caucus and Co-Chair of the Affirmative Action Committee for the Washington State Democratic Central Committee. In these roles, I focus on expanding access to political participation, elevating underrepresented voices, and strengthening inclusive leadership across Washington State.
My approach to leadership is rooted in collaboration and community engagement. I bring people together across differences, build coalitions, and create spaces where voices that are often overlooked are not just included, but centered. I believe the most effective policy is shaped by the people it impacts.
I’ve been actively involved in local political organizing, leadership development, and advocacy efforts focused on equity, education, and access. Across this work, I’m committed to bridging the gap between institutions and the communities they’re meant to serve.
I believe strong communities are built when people are not only informed, but meaningfully involved in the decisions that affect their lives. My leadership is grounded in transparency, accessibility, and a deep commitment to community-driven governance.
